What is emotional intelligence (EI)?
Recognizing emotions in yourself and others. Noticing different feelings and labeling them appropriately. Using emotional information to guide your thinking and behaviour. And regulating emotions to adapt to situations and achieve your goals.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends. Short-term therapy is 6-12 sessions. Medium-term therapy is 12-24 sessions. Long-term therapy is 24+ sessions. I work with you to determine your goals for therapy. There are regular check-ins to ensure progress.
How often are the sessions?
Sessions are weekly to start. It’s best to budget time for the sessions before committing to the work. Think of it as an investment in yourself, you deserve it.
Will the therapist fix me?
You are not considered broken. I help facilitate a process of change and growth. You have the key to your situation. My job is to help you discover it.
What happens in the sessions?
Therapy is a chance for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe environment. Think of it as your personal lab. Like everything in life, you get out of it what you put into it!
